Anvil Rising came to life in early 2009, forged of the remnants of the medieval death metal band Dubhdroiacht, which itself was founded in 2002 and laid to rest in 2007. Between the end of Dubhdroiacht and the founding of Anvil Rising, singer Florian, drummer Stefan and bass player Al kept on playing and tried to find suiting guitar players.
During that period, several potential new members joined and left the band. These ongoing changes led to a significant change in music style - from a folky medieval death metal bagpipe sound to thrashy melodic black death metal.
When Huu joined the band in early 2009, he perfectly filled the gap in the lineup. Since then the demo track " Rise" was recorded in the Rockfact Studio in Münchenstein BL, several new songs were composed and a concert was given at Villa Rosenau in early 2010.
In spring of 2011 Al left the band to pursue his academic career in the USA. Left with only three metal heads Anvil Rising was on the search for musicians anew. In the autumn of the same year Eveline joined the band on the guitar. So from now on, Anvil Rising is threatening the world with two guitars.
Only a few weeks later former Black Swan Event bassist Buzz stumbled upon the slowly recovering band. After a several beers the decision was clear. Buzz would stay and support the band with his thundering bass lines.
